Ukrainan radikaalin kansallismielisen Azov-pataljoonan puolueen National Corpsin katujaoston National Militian aktivistit ottivat yhteen poliisin kanssa lauantaina presidentin toimitilojen edessä. Puolue kutsui päivää ’Vihan päiväksi’, ja päivän tarkoitus oli protesti koskien Ukrainan viimeaikaista korruptioskandaalia. Poliisin mukaan useita poliiseja loukkaantui mellakoissa. Myös National Corpsin aktivisteja otettiin kiinni.
Puolueen yksi kansainvälisistä yhteyshenkilöistä kirjoitti näin:
”A nervous reaction of current president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the rally of National Corps against the corruption in the army is easy to understand: he is afraid to lose the financial support of the West which has never fully reached the Ukrainian army.
Yesterday, after heavy clashes with the police at the presidential administration in Kyiv, activists of National Corps learned that the president was heading to the city of Cherkasy to hold a meeting with the potential voters. They followed him, and disrupted his meeting by asking him inconvenient questions through a megaphone. He instantly fled.
Currently, Poroshenko’s bot farm is raging against the activists of National Corps calling them the agents of the Kremlin, paid by Poroshenko’s rivals provocateurs, extremists, and so on and so forth. However, nobody tried to protect him at the meeting with Cherkasy residents.
The case of stolen from the military budget billions of money by the clans of Gladkivsky and Svynarchuk has not been investigated yet. However, today, after the clashes with the police in Cherkasy, the police was fast to have detained several activists of National Corps, among them the head of its Cherkasy branch, veteran of the war in Donbas Dmytro Kukharchuk.
Random citizens support the demands of National Corps but speak against violence. After French yellow vests, who entered the streets because of fuel prices, it sounds ridiculous. Others say that we should have better fought on the frontline instead. It sounds even more ridiculous, for, firstly, the Azov Regiment, as always efficiently, does fight in the East, secondly, National Corps was established by the founder of the Azov Regiment Andriy Biletsky precisely to counter the situation when the victory on the frontline becomes defeat in the politicians’ cabinets.
Most of its key activists, including Dmytro, are former soldiers of the Azov Regiment, and the first 10 000-strong rally of National Corps forced Poroshenko to cancel the treacherous Morel’s Plan. In other words, to be continued. We’ve allowed Poroshenko to play populism for too long”.
